Brief: In Word write a few lines to explain what you have been asked to do. Mention the purpose of the system, and the benefits it will bring to Disc Central.
Action plan: Look at the deadline for this assignment. You should now read through the whole of the rest of the assignment. Identify the main tasks you will need to carry out. Now set up a table in Word with the following headings: Task, Start date, Brief description of what is involved, Finish date, Monitoring. Fill in the table, leaving the monitoring column empty for now. As you work through your plan, you should complete the monitoring column explaining whether you completed each section on time, and reasons for any delay.

List the hardware you will need. Give details of the system specifications you think would be needed. Which items of software will be needed?
Draw a simple diagram of your system, labelling all items of hardware and cabling.

Make a list of all of the items of data (fields) you will need to collect for the following tables in your database;
- Customers' details
- DVD details
- Game details
- Rental details
For each piece of information you should explain how you will capture it, and how it will be entered into your system (by hand or automatic)
Your System: Processes
Use a data flow diagram (more information to follow) to show the process from the customer choosing a disc to it being returned. Include sending the newsletter and the generation of the other outputs required. For each stage you should include details of; Where information comes from, where it goes to and how it gets there.
